ANTS Distributed Media is providing a Digital Signage 2.0 platform that allows you to deploy digital signage screens for FREE! The system is flexible and is designed for individual users who wish to deploy a signage display or a network operator deploying a large network of displays at many locations.

At the heart of the ANTS Distributed Media solution are the ANTS Connected Display client and the ANTS Management Console.

The ANTS Connected Display media player is the controller software for digital signage displays. Supported on both Microsoft Windows and Google Android Linux-based platforms, the ANTS client supports standard HTML/CSS media design layouts and media formats, and supports standard web technologies including Adobe Flash and JavaScript widgets. This Web publishing model for presentation of layouts and web widgets allows you the maximum flexibility in the design of your displays. The ANTS client is optimized for carrier wireless connectivity in limited bandwidth and lossy connectivity environments. The lightweight Windows-based client works with most PC-based hardware running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems. The Google Android-based client only works with customized ARM-based computing hardware.

The ANTS Management Console is a browser-based application for managing display networks, media feeds, playlists, and playlist schedules, as well as basic tools for creating new content. It provides an intuitive easy-to-use drag-and-drop web interface for managing media feeds, accessing media files, and for customizing various web layout templates.

The ANTS console provides a simple interface for managing and previewing media playlists, and scheduling media playlists and channels. It also provides the capabilities for managing user accounts and a map-based topological display for monitoring and administrating the display devices and display network.



The management console is divided into the following sections:

• Displays
• Create & Edit
• Schedule & Publish
• Settings

The “Displays” tab provides a graphical remote management interface to the ANTS Connected Displays. Each of the displays at their deployed locations are graphically represented on Google map. Additional display-specific information can by obtained by selecting the display icon on the map. Display-specific information is shown in the Details section and the user can make updates to the displays as required.

The “Create & Edit” tab provides an interface to manage the various media assets available for publishing to ANTS Connected Displays. You can upload pictures or video formats or your can create or let others create images using the graphics authoring tool. In addition, ANTS offers an assortment of RSS media feeds that are continuously updated as news stories are made available. With your various media assets, you can then place them into sequential order to form a playlist.

Through the ANTS Management Console, you can define or choose screen layouts for your media assets. You can apply a layout for a single media asset item or you can use one layout template to show a number of your media assets.

The “Schedule & Publish” facility allows you to publish media assets to your ANTS Connected Display(s). The management console provides complete flexibility in scheduling when and what is shown on your displays. You can schedule your playlist on the basis of time of day, day of week, day of year, week of year or show the same playlist throughout the year. This granularity allows you target your messages for particular time or for special days of the year.

The “Settings” tab enables you to set default global settings based on your preference to how you want the ANTS Connected Displays to operate.
